Australian Proteome Analysis Facility
2-dimensional gel technologies, functional proteomics, bioinformatics and mass spectrometry
The APAF was started in 1996 with grants from the Australian government. Collaborative work has been done with more than 250 different research organisations worldwide. A large grant in 2001 enabled an expansion, which allows research at the University of NSW, the University of Sydney and at TGR BioSciences Pty Ltd., a start-up biotechnology company in Adelaide. These closely work together to create new products and services. Since 7 March, 2003, APAF has been a Registered Research Agency by AusIndustry.
