South African Core Lab Adopts Affymetrix Technology for Genomic Studies

Affymetrix Inc., (Nasdaq:AFFX) today announced that one of South Africa’s largest public core labs has begun offering genomic research on the Affymetrix GeneChip(R) platform. The Centre for Proteomic and Genomic Research (CPGR) is using many Affymetrix GeneChip arrays, such as the exon array and the SNP Array 6.0, to explore applications with molecular diagnostics potential, large-scale genotyping and novel ways of advancing drug research and development across the country.
