Protagen AG Launches ModiroTM 1.1 - The PTM Explorer

ModiroTM automates the identification of post-translational modifications (PTMs) of proteins by mass spectrometry to provide more comprehensive information while reducing the time needed for analysis. ModiroTM carries out high throughput analysis of thousands of mass spectrometry profiles in parallel, to iden­tify unknown mass shifts, sequence errors and unspecific enzymatic cleavage of amino acids. In a single step, ModiroTM enables these variances to be clearly visualized and evaluated via an unique interface. The analysis of many spectra in parallel, together with the analysis in­terface, provides a more complete characterization of the protein at a faster rate than previously possible.

The most interesting improvements of the new version ModiroTM 1.1 are the support of Electron Transfer Dissociation (ETD) experiments and the support of all major cleavage reagents. Additionally the predefined set of post translational modifications will now cover over 130 PTMs that can be screened with a single click. With this, ModiroTM enables protein researchers to identify more crucial PTMs in their proteins of interest than ever before.
