Detroit R&D, Inc. was founded in 1997 by Dr. Hyesook Kim. The company has received funding for five active or completed National Institutes of Health (NIH) SBIR Phase I and II projects (two of these are active Phase II), including hypertension diagnosis, PGHS-dependent DNA damage and microarray projects. Detroit R&D is an awardee of the first round Michigan Life Sciences Corridor Fund as a partner company for elucidation of the mechanisms of a eukaryotic drug pump.
