Centre for excellency for biotechnology R&D, building up national bioinfrastructure

The basis for KRIBB was created with the founding of the Genetic Engineering Center in February 1985. In March 1995 the name was changed to KRIBB, and in May 1999 the KRIBB became an independent organisation under the Korea Research Council of Fundamental Science and Technology (KRCF).
