Generic chip

The generic microchip contains 6 possible hexadeoxyribonucleotides (4 = 4,096 hexamers) incorporated within 8-mers of general structure gel-5’-NH2-MNNNNNNM-3’, where N is one of four bases, and M is equimolar mixture of A,T,G and C. The required subsets of single stranded 8-mers immobilised on the generic microchip can also be converted by hybridisation to the double stranded form with corresponding fluorescently labelled mixtures of 8-mers.
