Vir A/S has invented a disposable plastic biosensor chip known as VirChip™. The biosensor technology is based on surface plasmon resonance (SPR). The company Vir supplies instruments, software, chips and reagent kit applications.
The VirChip™ is an injection-moulded plastic chip consisting of a gold film and optical diffraction gratings. Meaurements are undertaken with the Cobi R100 instrument, also marketed by the company along with the necessary software tools.
