Pierce Biotechnology

Cromatography, protein chemistry, sample handling

In 1941 Robert F. Pagel, Kenneth Brace and John Hagamier launched Pierce, then a company known as Midwest Extraction dealing with chlorophyll. In 1949, Alan Pierce joined the company with the intention to focus on the production of fine organic chemicals, acquired the business and remained involved in the company until he retired in 1994. Renamed to Pierce Chemical Company, the company expanded. In 1995 Pierce introduced its first SuperSignal Chemiluminescent Substrate for the chemiluminescent detection of biological molecules such as antibodies or pharmaceuticals. Today, Pierce Chemical Company is a unit of the Fisher Biosciences group.

SearchLight™ Arrays are available as SearchLight™ Proteome Arrays, SearchLight™ Cytokine Arrays, SearchLight™ Chemokine Arrays, SearchLight™ Human Phosphorylated Kinase Array, SearchLight™ Human Angiogenisis Array.
DiscoverLight™ Protein Array Kits are designed for arraying proteins of interest with sensitive chemiluminescent detection using common lab equipment. The kits allow for multiplex analysis of your protein, cell lysate or antibody in a low-density array format. Included are nitrocellulose membranes with a 384-grid template for arraying the proteins of interest. 18 positive control elements consisting of biotin and peroxidase serve as positional and functional markers. At present, the kits are available with four different peroxidase-based probe systems.
