National Human Genome Research Institute (NHGRI)

Developing the Tissue Chip and supports other research projects

In 1989 the National Center for Human Genome Research (NCHGR) was founded as the National Institutes of Health (NIH) basis in the International Human Genome Project (HGP).

In 1997 the United States Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) changed the name to National Human Genome Research Institute (NHGRI), thus giving it the status of a research institute.
