The company was founded in 1997 by SmithKline Beecham and Incyte Genomics.

diaDexus initial strategy was to discover disease-associated genes and proteins in order to develop novel diagnostic products for the improved detection, classification and prognosis of disease and has now expanded it´s strategy to include the discovery and development of therapeutic products for the improved treatment of disease.
