Micralyne was founded in 1982 and privatised in 1998.
In summer 2003 Micralyne was awarded awarded ISO 9001:2000 registration. In the same month, Micralyne was awarded a contribution from the National Research Council Canada’s Industrial Research Assistance Program (NRC-IRAP), for the development of polymeric BioMEMS components and products.

The Microfluidic Tool Kit™ comprises HV electronics, optical detection electronics, software control, detection optics, compiled LabView interface, stage and chip. To run the system, a Pentium 300 MHz PII, 128 MB RAM, 2 GB HDD (Win95/98/NT) are required.
