Institute for Molecular Bioscience (IMB), University of Queensland


Research on genomics and bioinformatics, cellular and developmental biology, structural biology and chemistry, and public policy and ethics


The IMB was established in 2000 as a collaboration of several research facilities including the Centre for Molecular and Cellular Biology, the Centre for Drug Design and Development, the ARC Special Research Centre for Functional and Applies Genomics, the headquarters and Brisbane section of the Australian Genome Research Facility, and major parts of the Centre for Microscopy and Microanalysis, and the Advanced Computational Modelling Centre.

It was initiated by the University of Queensland, the Queensland Government, and the Commonwealth Government.
